Good morning everyone! It's a crisp -5 degrees here in Northeast WI. This still beats living in North Dakota. Can remember those days walking to work in a ground blizzard with -40 wind chills lol.
I have 10 chickens (2 being roosters.) I definitely believe the lady who said they switched up the feed though. You can’t find the regular Organic chicken feed anywhere. Recently I have been getting 1 egg a day, 2 if I’m lucky. They have switched up the food & now it is more corn based. That is down from 8-10 eggs a day. I don’t get it. It’s also super unfortunate as eggs have gotten so expensive. If anyone knows where I could possibly find a new feed that would be great!
Purina(land o lakes) and cal-maine are in a joint venture to monopolize the industry or at least kill the competition.
I'm not sure what to feed chickens but not anything made by Purina. That might be feed going by other brand names. So you might have to call to find out, who's the manufacturer.
Warmed my heart hearing about your sunflower seed addiction Deeve. My late hubby was the same way. Had to limit him to 2 cups day. 🤣 Now I can hardly look at them. 😢
Listening to Tyler talk about fantasy football and how people get angry while watching the games. We were camping last year (a lone tent in a sea of campers) and we really thought this dude was abusing his family. We were quite concerned for their safety. Long story shorter, he was just yelling at the football game. 😅

I read an article where a commenter said the feed they used, which stopped egg production, was from Tractor and Supply.
They switched to something from a local shop and the chickens started laying again.
That’s what I often use: Tractor Supply or a local place called True Value but they might get their food from Tractor Supply
That video mentioned a brand from tractor supply that is made by Purina, but it's not labled. They might be on to something.

No, they have to have some shell in the feed to make strong shells
Usually oyster shell... it also provides calcium
I usually grind up their egg shells after I use them and feed it to them every couple weeks

Goood mornin! I used to eat one of those massive bags of seeds a week. Had to quit because all the salt just made me swell up.

My chickens always have low production during the winter. I get 1-3 eggs a day instead of 4-7 in the summer. 🐓
Saw the SpaceX 9 go up today. Hoping they’ll do more night launches. Those are awesome!
